I’m a history buff and longtime gamer with the Vietnam 1945 - 1975 being one of my favorite topics for both.
Welcome back John.

Re: Check Your Gear! 2020
Happy to have found a NAM specific forum; I have been collecting the Empress 28mm range for about 18 months. Prior to that was mainly collecting & painting 20mm Bush Wars stuff.

Re: Check Your Gear! 2020
Thanks guys, funnily enough I have no models to paint at the moment. That's how I found this forum, rummaging around Google.
Current interests are: 28mm Nam, Empress minis; 28mm Late WW2, Empress again; 28mm 1960/70/80's Bush Wars, Eureka minis; 20mm Bush Wars, so UnderFire minis. Plus the odd side project like BAOR or more modern, either 20 or 28mm depends usually just if I like the models.

Glad to see you're like most gamers..... more periods and projects than one can shake a stick at!

What are you rules of choice?
I mainly just collect and paint when time and enthusiasm permits, outside of forums I don't actually know anyone who plays.
I got into painting 40k when my son was younger, found I rather enjoy it and carried on.
Painted a few bits for other people over the years aswell. Got an old school friend in New Zealand who makes and paints very detailed planes, tanks and sharks, but hates figures so occasionally I get sent packages of plastic people to make look grubby.

Ash, you're not alone. I find I collect and paint more than I actually game. That's moreso true over the past several years.

FNG
SO looks like I am the FNG, even though I am an old guy. Admit I don't game historic as much as I would like, mostly last few years skirmish distopian, maybe some zombies, and Gaslands, the most fun with hot wheels since I was 10

Hey buddy! Welcome back to the fold! You're only an FNG in spirit, you're actually a Legacy Member.
For those not in the know, blinddog was a member of the old incarnations of FOF and helped us set up the forum software when we were privately hosted. So...... circa 2003-ish.
That's awesome! I've heard that set of rules is pretty fun. Very reminiscent of Steve Jackson Games' Car Wars from back in the 80's.

You just had to mention how long ago that was. Now feeling olderblinddog wrote: and Gaslands, the most fun with hot wheels since I was 10

Yeah pretty much, have enjoyed modifying cars for sure. I mean hot wheels/ matchbox average cost is 1$ some fiddly bits, 3d printed stuff, and some paint.. boom cheap mini

Looks like Risaldar Singh has re-upped. He was an active participant on the French Indochina forum over at the Tapatalk forum.
