Saigon 75 game has been released
Hi
my game Saigon 75 has been delivered to the KS backers and will soon hit the local and online shops.
Of course it is already available in the publisher's eshop.
Here is a presentation text for the game:
Gameplay overview
Saigon 75 is a simple and swift strategic wargame, simulating the fratricidal struggle between North and South Vietnam from summer 1973 to spring 1975. Everything is contained within a few pages of rules and 1 hour of strategy, with pressure at every moment! The game portrays the differences between North Vietnamese divisions and the Rangers/Marines/Parachutists and other units of the South Vietnamese. Air power and desertion are also featured, with the whole thing being completed by event cards that give the game great replayability. An ingenious mix that provides a game on tenterhooks right up to the last turn! If, at the end of any turn, the North player controls Saigon province the game ends with a North victory. The South player wins by successfully defending Saigon until the end of Turn 8.
Solo Rules
In the solo mode, you play the South, while the North is controlled by a deck of cards (AI). There is not a lot of difference between the solo and two-player modes in terms of the rules and the winning condition. During each turn, there are phases (movement, attack, etc.) where the AI draws one card and does a specific action.

Re: Saigon 75 game has been released
My parcel from France arrived exactly 7 days later and I am very pleased with the game. Nice sturdy board, custom-cut wooden unit markers, nicely illustrated rules with historical background... Me and my wargaming buddy are going to give it a go this Sunday.

Re: Saigon 75 game has been released
Me and my wargaming buddy played Saigon 75 today:
I played the North Vietnamese and attacked through the Central Highlands. I didn't deploy enough units fast enough and had a series of bad rolls. The South Vietnamese successfully counter-attacked and I failed to split the country in two. You need to occupy a certain number of provinces for the South Vietnamese forces to start deserting and it just wasn't happening. By the end of the game I wasn't even close to occupying Saigon:

Re: Saigon 75 game has been released
It's a good game - more challenging for the North Vietnamese than I imagined.
A question about the rules: when you run out of event cards, do you just reshuffle the pack and reuse them?

Hi
you cannot run out of cards:
Each player draws a new Event Card at the
end of his Event Card sub-phase, so that at
the start of each turn he will always be in
possession of a full hand of three cards.
Since the game comprises twenty Event Cards,
four cards are put aside before starting play;
these cards remain unknown to either player.

Re: Saigon 75 game has been released
OK - in retrospect; I got the solo play cards and the normal cards mixed up at the start of the game and must have missed a card or three even after sorting them out.
