Tunnel Rat RPG
Hayes (6) and I played this dungeon crawl based Tunnel Rat game yesterday. It was very fun, tense, and had nice breadth while being simple enough for a 6-year old to grasp! I would recommend you check out from Wargame Vault (LINK TO RULES). Not much for eye candy but fun nonetheless! I am thinking about doing some foam pieces for this that could be tacked on to show rooms, etc. Note if you know the rules the map in the photo below is a little off in that the "exits" should end those branches but I wanted to keep Hayes entertained! A little DMing license!
The rules include:
Campaign
Character growth/skill change
Traps including punji pits, etc.
Random encounters
Random depth and length of tunnel complexes- this is cool as it might end quickly or be multiple levels or even floors
Animals- snakes, etc.
Really fun little game!

Re: Tunnel Rat RPG
Thanks guys! It is really cool.
You progress down a list of options (16) by rolling a single d6- traps, rooms, room/branch, animal, or just more tunnel. You can increase depth with a room. Eventually you have to hit a room. This is more likely to be a command room the deeper you go. When at first level it might be a bunker! Really cool stuff!

My very first Vietnam wargame was a tunnel rat scenario, in 1990. It was the easiest thing to start with as I had no Vietnam terrain in those days, so we used cardboard tunnel pieces left over from my D&D days
Diligent late-night recon up Saigon back alleys...

Very cool! One of the great things about gaming Vietnam is the breadth of operations and size of engagements.

Will have to look into this. FNG (1st Ed) had an extensive tunnel rule section and i always wanted to do a game that is just tunnels. Been seeing lots of eye candy lately, might have to snag this!
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay
