Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
The following is a list of available and OOP buildings in 20mm or 1/72 scale for Vietnam. The selection is currently very limited.
Britannia Miniatures
https://www.grubbytanks.com/product-category/britannia-miniatures/20mm-vietnam-conflict/buildings-vietcong-bunkers-etc/
Currently only 2 hut models available, plus an NVA HMG position and firebase elements.
Ironclad Miniatures
https://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/ourshop/cat_295144-Vietnam-Firebase-20mm.html
Makers of 20mm Vietnam firebase elements
Sarissa Precision
https://sarissa-precision.com/collections/far-east-20mm
Fairly extensive set of MDF jungle buildings in 20mm, similar to their 28mm range.
Monolith Designs
http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/vietnam.htm
A really decent set of Vietnam hootches made in resin. It appears the company is no longer trading.
Airfix Jungle Outpost
(No website. Item is OOP)
A really great little kit in 1/72 scale but is now OOP and hard to find. Expensive when you do see it on eBay

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
This a pic of the Airfix Jungle Outpost kit done by Capt. Willard and was featured as a permanent fixture on the old Fields of Fire portal page. He swore it worked well with 28mm, but I didn't buy that, owning the kit myself. It might size up well with the 1/72 plastics, but I thought it was more suited for 15mm.

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
This was a 20mm "playset" looking scenery kit from a defunct company called Scenic Effects circa 2000/2001.

Monday Knight Productions manufacturers many of the old Scenic Effects buildings and kits. Unfortunately, this is not one of them - yet. They mentioned they are going back and going to be bringing out more of the old product in the future.

That's interesting. We'll have to see if this kit sees the light of day again. It's a very interesting piece.

Maybe someone should mention to him, there may be interest for that amongst 20mm gamers.

We've got some 20mm stuff that never sees it's way to the table top since we moved over to 28mm years ago. I'll dig it out and send Bravo6 a couple of pics if there's any interest. No idea who the makers might be I'm afraid.

Those look pretty rudementary, but maybe painted they wouldn't look so.

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
The 1/72 version is fine with 20mm - we used to have a few when we had 20mm collections. I don't think the 1/32 version would work at all well with 28mm though - it would be huge.

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
The Scenic Effects is truly one rare beast, but Will at Monday Knight Productions may have the molds for it.
He had the mold for the Napoleonic Aspern Church that was of great historical significance in the 1809 campaign in Austria. I did not know he had it until I saw it on a dealer table at a convention. The dealer said Will did not know what it was. (I am not saying Will did not know. I am only reporting what the dealer told me.) Will was contacted about the Aspern church, but to my knowledge it has never appeared on his website even though the dealer had it probably five years ago.
My point is that if someone would contact him about this and tell him there is a demand for it, maybe he would make it available. However, the mold may have been damaged. Scenic Effects had the Trostle farm house from Gettysburg. Will at Monday Knight does not have that either. I was told that is because the mold was damaged.

Tom, Thomas said this above:
Maybe he needs an onslaught of email inquiries to get stuff rolling.

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
I did contact MKP about the Scenic Effects jungle village. I received a reply just shortly before leaving for Wyoming and totally forgot.
Here is the reply I received from Michelle Thompson:
"As for the Vietnam Village - that is work - it needs to be remastered - before MKP can get it into production. At this point I am unsure, where our production crew is on this project - as we have a lot of new items that we have come out with - as in the new wall sets for 6mm, 15mm & 25mm. Also 15mm exclusive to online purchasers only from Hero's Hoard items(second link)."

Re: Vietnam Era Buildings - 20mm
This may be stretching it to be called a building, but it is sort of building related.
I like loose bricks for rubble. See how small they are? On my monitor. one inch on the ruler is over two inches long. That little box had seven folded papers inside containing 100 bricks each. I think virtually all of the 100 bricks from one packet are there in the photo. A few may have slid under the box. I got these from a guy in Hungary via Esty website. I think I wish I had bought some that were really bigger than 1/72 scale. These are probably right on the mark, but larger bricks would be more practical.
