Operation Hammersley - Long Hai Hills - February 1970

The Royal Australian Armoured Corp, RAAC, regularly puts out a magazine/e-zine called Ironsides.

In the latest issue there is a great article on Operation Hammersley where a composite unit made up of Centurion tanks, M113's and 8RAR Infantry battalion attempted to clear a known large and well protected complex in the Long Hai hills south east of Nui Dat and North East of Vung Tau.  In some of the travel reports I mentioned the Ming Dam Secret Zone, a well constructed camp of under ground bunkers, tunnels, hospital and storage areas, this is the complex the Aussies were trying to clear.
