Elheim 20mm NVA platoon
I have just finished a platoon worth of Elheim 20mm NVA. These give two NVA platoons. The other is a mixture of Liberation and Platoon 20 with a few RPG guys from WarTime and SHQ.
I play with FNG rules, so a figure is one man. I use a 10 man squad with eight Ak-47s, one RPD and one RPG. However, from my reading I find that sometimes a squad would have two RPGs. Also, they could have RPG-2s or RPG-7s. To cover all of those options, I painted thirteen figures for each squad. That way I can do two RPGs if I want to and have all 7s or all 2s, or one of each. They paint fast and don't cost that much.
In the photos below you will see the three extra RPG figures at the squads' left ends.
There is also a four man HQ. The platoon sergeant is the only non-Elheim figure. He is Platoon 20.
I painted the first two squads in green and the third in khaki. Maybe on the platoon level they would likely all have the same color. But, this is the way I did it.
There are also three Elheim machine guns in the photo. Who knows why I did not put the crewmen in the photo. From your left to right, the MGs are DShK HMG, SG43 SGM MMG, and Vickers .30cal MMG. I love machine guns on wheels and with shields.
I should add that I get excellent service from Elheim, even from UK to US. They arrive in less than three weeks from order date. I have ordered twice this year with that level of service. Last year I placed a large order (by my humble standards) and he did not charge postage. But that was prior to the current high inflation.

OOO those look lovely! Much better than mine!
I agree, Elhiem has excellent service. I am on my second order with them and it just shipped the other day. I plan on making a third soon as well. 20mm is addicting!
FNG is a great set of rules. Played the hell out of it back in High School years ago in 28mm. Trying out all sorts of systems now to play big multiplayer games where each player has a platoon. I really enjoyed my last playthrough of Disposable Heroes "The Long Road South" with some house rules to add wounding and make it less deadly.

Re: Elheim 20mm NVA platoon
Thanks for the kind words on my figures. My FNG is a combination of all three editions and some house rules. I have a bit of a mess and am trying to synthesize the whole into an easier to use "book" rather than cobbled together as I have it now.
I started that project three years ago and am still not done.

Oh, that sounds like fun! Sounds like you are really putting together a fan version of the rules which is great. I have always tinkered with rules because each player is looking for something different in their games.
I will let you know if I am ever in Ohio and we can roll some dice

Looking good - lots of work done on shading and detailing there.

Thanks, OTB.
On the closeup photos the highlighting looks overdone, but on the table they do not.

Those are great looking 20mm's Tom! You've certainly done them justice with your brushwork!
I think those words can be in all of our signatures here on the forum. Some may change that "three years" to many, many more.
