1968 Outside Hue 20mm
Played a game today with my stuff. We playtested a scenario I am going to run on the second day of the Mini Recon gaming convention in Leander, TX. It is semi-historical. After an American attack on the Communist supply lines leading into Hue city, the Americans went on the defensive as a regiment of PAVN forces conducted a counterattack. We had fun, but the PAVN and VC force was ultimately unsuccsefull. I thought three platoons would be enough against two defending American platoons, but that wasn't the case. So I will be adding a fourth communist platoon making it an understrength battalion.
Here are some pictures.

I don't see photos.
"We had fun, but the PAVN and VC force was ultimately unsuccsefull."
I would have had less fun if they had been successful. Somebody has to lose it may as well be them.
I guess I would be wondering if the NVA and VC just lost or if they really got clobbered. If the former, adding another platoon for them may make it go too much the other way. Balance can be tough. Particularly if one side has really good or really bad dice.
Looking forward to the photos.

Yeah, I am trying to fix the photo issue. Balance is tricky for sure.

Re: 1968 Outside Hue 20mm
Thanks a bunch, guys! I hope it is a winner, I have been sharing pictures on the Central Texas FB group and a lot of people seem interested. It is interesting, I think there are a lot of people who want to play Vietnam, but collecting the terrain stops them. Granted most of my terrain has taken a few years to put together, but all the figures, buildings, and 30 percent of the terrain have been acquired, built, and painted by me in the last two months. I have been busy!

You really have been busy. Yes, rice paddies and jungle can put some people off. I remember mine was a lot of work.
Building plastic aircraft models can be a pain too.

Re: 1968 Outside Hue 20mm
Oh yeah, I must admit, I do not like building models that much. For that reason, all of my tanks, APCs, and helis are the prepainted diecast/plastic variety. Especially because they don't always cost much more than an unbuilt and unpainted kit! I have a few kits, but I am hesitant to work on them. I am probably going to ask this in another thread, but what do you use for flight stands? I have seen some people use telescoping rods, but I am not sure where to get them.

Thanks, OTB! It gets better and better each week. Recently repainted all the rivers to look more natural.
