Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
Here are some photos of the table for a game I ran last year. It was Duc Lap Special Forces camp. It, of course is only part of the perimeter. The game started with the NVA already occupying the outer perimeter, the side where the gate is. The USSF and their CIDG troops held an inner trench line.
Unfortunately, the game itself was not so hot. The NVA players and the SF players just shot back and forth at each other most of the time. There were some attempts to maneuver forward by the A-Team and their indigenous troops.

That is a great looking setup. I can imagine it being a bit difficult to maneuver unless you are willing to take casualties, especially with that 1 opening in the wire. But of course this is the point of the defense plan. too bad the NVA player wasn't aggressive.
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay

Yes, Darby, but once the NVA took the outer perimeter, the real battle did shift to the good guys driving them out, one bunker at a time.
I had more guys want to play than I had expected. So I just ran the game and didn’t play. Finally the FWF did advance using some fairly good fire and maneuver with your wonderful FNG rules. They utilized the bunkers in the low ground on their right side to block enemy fire to some degree.

Looks good Tom! Is that your man-cave you have set up in the background?

Re: Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
Thank B6. I have a very encouraging wife. I actually have two man caves. This is supposed to be the family room. But it has my wargame table and figures, my paint table (behind the dehumidifier), my nonCuster books, my weights and NordicTrack. And of course my saddle. Also, some of the books in the room are my wife's.
I have a spare bedroom upstairs with my Custer books.
A very encouraging wife.

A great-looking set-up - looks like I have found a new wargaming use for my brown river-coloured fleece blanket.

Re: Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
Thanks, mgentile. Of course the green bag trenches are Britannia. The trenches with the light colored bags are by a guy who is a one man band. He really makes pieces for 1/72 dioramas. Many don't work that well for wargaming, but I thought these pieces would make good trenches.

Re: Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
Nice setup ! ; getting the firebase game at the right balance for fire and maneuver can be tricky .
Looks like a good table to have sappers tunnelling in from 'underneath' and arriving at random locations somewhere in the middle . ... then having to break out in the dark and rain ....
great looking trenches and fortifications .
good to see you getting new people involved .
two man caves ? awesome !! ... a summer palace and a winter palace ? your wife is a keeper .

Re: Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
mgentile, I sincerely apologize for not responding sooner to your question. I was out of town for 34 days and swamped upon my return.
I will answer as best I can. I will use the top photo for reference.
Closest to the camera, on the left, the light green building with the metal roof is from www.frontlinewargaming.co.uk. Look under the heading "Other 20mm." It is 20BL# Barrack Hut.
The bunker and tower to the right are by Britannia. This link gives all of the Britannia firebase parts, I believe:
https://www.grubbytanks.com/product-category/britannia-miniatures/20mm-vietnam-conflict/us-fire-support-base/
The trench line with the light colored sandbags are by Joe Morehouse. I will have to dig up contact info.
The green bunker near the left end of that trench line is by Ironclad Miniatures. This link lists all pieces in this photo that are by Ironclad.
https://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/ourshop/cat_295144-Vietnam-Firebase-20mm.html
The small bunker next to it with the metal roof is out of production. Damaged mold.
I forget who made the various light colored sandbags in the center of the photo. I will work on it.
The bunker on the right, just beyond the concertina, is Britannia.
Just above it is another Ironclad.
To the left of that Ironclad is another Britannia.
The entire line on the far side of the table is Britannia.
I hope that helps.

Re: Duc Lap Special Forces Camp
I have found the contact info for Joe Morehouse who did the pieces with the light colored sandbags. that I used for trenches. He does not have a website, but will send photos and info on what he has.
I hesitate to just post his email address here in the open. If anyone wants it, PM me and I will pass it on, as he said I could do that. He is a great guy to deal with. I sent him a link to these photos so he would know what of his is used here.
