Trees for the Vietnam tabletop
I thought I'd bring up the topic of trees for Vietnam. Since I'm in the throws of mico madness I've been looking at Z scale stuff. We have a tendency with Vietnam to go to the palm trees as a standby and these lend to an exotic look. Of course, others go to the opposite end of the spectrum and just use plain, old deciduous trees. Neither look quite right in my opinion, but are certainly passable.
When I think of Vietnam, I think of trees like these JTT Scenery Gum Trees:
What is YOUR preference when it comes to foresting your table?

Those gum trees do look good. I like palm trees, but most jungle is not filled with them from what I have seen.
Those gum trees really look good for LZ X-Ray from We Were Soldiers Once and Young.
For jungle some that had really large diameter trunks would be good.
My jungle trees are homemade with twisted wire trunks and flocked furnace filter pieces. My jungle stands were copied from a tutorial thread on the old site. The author's username was so original that I cannot remember it.

I believe this is the thread, though all the pics appear broken. The member was L.Sabia Byrne

I bought a huge collection of triple canopy from a guy getting out of gaming. I supplement that with a variety of deciduous and palms.
A lot of my games, though, also have a lot of rice paddies. THAT speaks "Vietnam' to me.

No. It was chagadiel. Unless I can find the post itself, I am not 100% sure he said how to make the trees, but he did cover the jungle foliage overall.
I will keep looking.
