Sticking Stuff Onto Nails to Paint
One of the things I do with seated figures is glue them to large nails for ease of painting and I can stick them upright to dry in a block of styrofoam. In my research into how 3mm stuff gets painted, I came across a tutorial on Pico Armor where the author sticks the little vehicles onto nails using "rope caulk". I'm wondering why you would choose to use rope caulk over something like Blue Tac. Pretty much the same thing isn't it?

Can't say I've ever heard of "Rope Caulk". To paint seated figures, I drill a small hole on the underside of the figure, dip the very tip of a tooth pick into super glue, then insert into hole. Works well for 20mm and 15mm. When painted and sealed, I just break of tooth pick and mount.

Rope caulk is pretty much like poster putty or blue tac. Holds but stays flexible so it's easy to remove.

I use rubber cement to attach all of my figures to painting blocks. Surprisingly it holds 28mm mounted figures at any angle I have tried so far.
