As Slippery as a Weasel (WIP)

These are WIP photos from the talented Mr Troop-of-Shewe. They're scratch-built M29Cs, which will be part of my French amphib group, to act as the recce support for my LVTs. Two of the vehicles are fully intact, while the other two are "hull down", for when the craft are moving through deep water.

During the French Indochina War, the French Foreign Legion operated one amphib group, while regular armoured units operated others. Both forces decked out their M29s with a range of weaponry (including MGs and RCLs). The French referred to the craft as "Crabes". They represented an effective way of delivering an assault force and firepower into swampy / paddyfield areas that couldn't otherwise be reached.

These are 28mm. They're heavily modified M29s from Brigade Games. Rubicon have just announced that they're working on a M29c kitset (perfect for French Indochina), but they probably won't be on the market for another year or so.
