Finally Played a Small Vietnam Game
I ran a small game to test some rules modifications over the weekend. A meeting engagement that ended up being almost an even trade. Not a lot to it, but posted some pics and description of the firefight on my blog.

Hopefully a precursor to more involved battles later this year. Thanks for looking.

Even though it was small it was still fantastic, as well as realistic. I love it!
Pulling back after a couple of casualties or even losing fire superiority should be a thing in more games (rather than fighting to the last man as sometimes occurs). To me spotting rules are a must, and it sounds like you have them down perfectly so that automatically puts your rules miles above most! In your rules what do leaders or command do?

Re: Finally Played a Small Vietnam Game
Thanks guys.
Don't know about having them down perfectly, I probably should lose points for having the squads at full strength.
Leaders have a Leadership rating/bonus. Once a unit is under fire, a leadership tests are taken for the unit to follow orders that put them in harms way. Additionally, leaders can impact morale rolls. Training and experience play a part in deciding the discipline of the troops, and that ties into the command and morale issues.

Great looking table - I like the little trails. Laid using sand?
Diligent late-night recon up Saigon back alleys...

Your game looks great. Both the table and the AAR. I hope more AARs will be coming.
Nice to see 20mm on this site. I remember when it predominated here.
