Re: OTB's Stuff
Thanks OTB. But now I have lost my excuse for not tackling those three rather intimidating projects.

Re: OTB's Stuff
I spent the weekend trying to knock these guys off, but there is still a lot of painting to go: one company of grunts with LAW and mortar support teams, a dog team, a ranger squad and various character figures.
I know that some of these are Qualiticast figures, but if anyone can identify the others I would be curious to know what they are - I got them all as a job lot second-hand....

I somehow missed the Phantom, but it looks sweet.
Definitely a lot of figures on the bench there! Look forward to seeing them all painted up.

Playing outdoors sounds cool. When I was a kid at home with my parents I played WWI aviation with Aurora 1/48 models in the backyard. My father made flight stands for me that were 6' high.

Re: OTB's Stuff
I remember back in the day, Lou Zocchi and Gamescience had a set of rules for big plastic kit Star Trek ships that needed to be played out on a gymnasium floor!

Re: OTB's Stuff
I have some air war rules that cover jets, but they are designed for tiny planes and use inches. I was thinking if I use feet or even metres for movement, it would make it more interesting and I could have a game in the yard. I have a shingle yard that might be mistaken for the Gulf of Tonkin and a patch of grass on one side that could pass as a coastal area of North Vietnam....

Re: OTB's Stuff
Great reference pic OTB. Interesting that they left all the warnings in Russian, but I guess the ground crews were probably trained by Russians so they had a general idea of what they meant.

Re: OTB's Stuff
I'm not sure about the ground crews, but various of the pilots were trained by Soviets during the war. A friend's father even graduated from the Krasnodar military aviation pilots' school. I intend to paint my one up with the same number as the one that he flew.
