Rebuild Thread

I thought I'd start a topic for discussions around the "settling in" process. Any issues you guys are having with bugs/glitches/gremlins, please post them here. As well, I'll post stuff about the tweaks I'm doing to get things running a little more streamlined in this thread. So for I've:

• Restored all the old school graphics including the familiar PHPBB layout
  

• Put our smilies/emoticons back into service, plus added a ton more
  

• Restored the rank system and corresponding graphics
  

• Added a group called "Legacy Members" for long term members of the community through most of FOF's incarnations
  

I'm also considering upgrading to the Premium Package of service here, which allows more traffic/bandwidth, more image hosting, bigger gallery, removal of ads for Mods and Members (sorry not for guests), and the cost is a very reasonable $14 CDN paid via PayPal per month. But I think I'll wait on this to see how much traffic we get and whether it's worth investing in.

Currently thinking of turfing "The Motor Pool" to reduce forum redundancy. Projects and workbenches can be highlighted in The Art of War forum.

I think you need to go into your user settings/profile and upload an avatar. You may not be able to do it on a phone. Email it to me, and I'll add it to your profile if you like.

I'm open to feedback on ideas for the community, and things we can add to the forum while it still has that "new forum" smell.

• Forums to add for topic specific subjects. Maybe an off topic forum?
  

• Bringing back the Saigon Gentleman's Club for Full Member Access. Encourages members to participate and drive up their post count to allow access.
  

• Any other "functions" you like to see added. There are some hacks available and there's a Portal I can turn on which is a digest page for all the forum activity.
  

Just throwing ideas out there.

Yup, just started to see them at noon CST today. Pop-up bars on the bottom of the screen.

According to Forummotion Support, it "takes time" for ads to appear on new forums.

I'm only seeing a small banner on the top. What are you guys seeing?

Disregard. I've bit the bullet and subscribed FOF to the ads free Premium Package. More storage, more options and shortly..... no ads for members.

What's the cost on that premium package?

It's $14 CDN per month. Not that expensive in the grand scheme. I'm thinking of setting up a Community Donation option for those who want to throw a couple of bucks into PayPal (that's where the payments come out of) and like the old FOF, Supporting Members can add to shiny new banner in their signature.

Just did a test on my phone, drifted around the forum NOT logged in and got ads, logged in and drifted some more and no ads.
Bravo6 I think you should advertise your PayPal address from which the monthly fee comes out so we can drop in bc a few dollars as we have them spare.
