Tân Định, Saigon, 3 February 1968
Some photos of my latest tabletop, which unfortunately did not go ahead because my wargaming buddy fell ill. With the whole COVID-19 thing going on I did wonder, but it was just a cold. Unfortunately, some days later we went into lockdown in New Zealand, so we have not yet played it yet. I did however take lots of photos so I could set the table up again.
Tan Dinh is the inner city suburb just north of downtown Saigon, and ends at the canal that flanks the northern side of the city. The scenario involved a hunt for some VC sapper teams on the run. Hopefully we will get to play it soon.

That is a fantastic setup, and would be a major difficulty to fight in. Can't wait to read the report when you guys can get to the game!

This game is now back on and is scheduled for Sunday after next. I think my wargaming buddy wants to do the Free World forces - helicopters, APCs, tanks shiny shiny etc. I'm hoping to lead the VC sapper teams and show him just how much trouble they can cause.

Have fun. I haven't had a game in several months. From what I have read, New Zealand seems to have licked this virus.

That's the best, and most accurate, group of smilies I've seen yet.

"DELTA 5 TO WHISKEY TANGO - NEGATIVE ON AIR SUPPORT. CHARLIE HAS RPGS ON THE ROOFTOPS. ONGOING HEAVY GROUND LOSSES. MARVIN RANGERS AMBUSHED AND PINNED DOWN - TWO SQUADS DOWN AND ONE TANK KO'ED. WE HAVE LOST NEARLY TWO PLATOONS. ALSO INCOMING MORTAR FIRE FROM ACROSS THE CANAL. CHARLIE HAS CAR BOMBS RIGGED UP AND IS USING SATCHEL CHARGES. CHARLIE NOW COUNTER-ATTACKING. THESE ARE SOME HARD-CORE SAPPER MOFOS. REQUEST MORE GROUND TROOPS AND WHERE IS OUR ARMOR? OVER...."

"Sure I'll take the Free World Forces", he smiled, looking at all the shiny hardware.
