Rescue game
We have a game running on our table - a platoon being airlifted into a hotspot to pick up casualties and an agent. Todd is very kindly sorting out the pictures and will post them in due course.

Re: Rescue game
As you can see fro m pic 4 Pat is partial to helicopters....She was n't getting to actually use them all in this game, but they all came out of the box so she could hum some Wagner and make gun-and-rocket noises.

Re: Rescue game
Cheers...very kind of you. I can take credit for none of it. Most of it has been bought second-hand and my wife Pat has painted the rest. Oddly enough that means quite a lot of US and very, very few VC.

Re: Rescue game
Hmmmm.....Pat humming is not the most melodic of things, but it's recognisable. The dust is real genuine dust....there's no substitute for the real thing. The forces of the 'democratic liberation of the people at gunpoint' were not entirely successful on this occasion, but the next game is already set up.....

Re: Rescue game
I wish I had've grabbed some Corgi choppers a bunch of years back. Before they were like $80-$100 on eBay.
Always thought it was weird that they always made a B and variants and never a UH-1D Slick.

Re: Rescue game
They are very mostly very pricey because they tend to be brand new boxed condition, but if they're not perfect they're not usually that expensive. The Cobras are generally cheapest. The last one Pat got was a Cobra about 18 months ago and it was £15.00 plus postage IIRC. She got about 4 or 5 choppers and some vehicles from Ron Ringrose's collection (the Mega Wargames book guy) when he was selling up.

Do the plastic cups move with the choppers?

Re: Rescue game
Yup. They're weighed down with stones and plaster/paint/glue that the trees are set into, so they are fairly stable with the weight of the helicopter - which being die cast are quite heavy. The choppers are not attached to the tumblers in any way, but the skids and the lower part of the hull sit within the mouth of the tumbler.
