Re: Limited Options for Airmobile in 28mm
I came across some 1/48 UH-1C diecast from Easy Models, but it doesn't look like the side doors open. Still, could work in a pinch for someone and no where near as expensive as the Corgi stuff.

Does the back have seats etc. (i.e.: detailed)? You could always just cut off the doors...

Not sure. I can't find any detailed pics of the kit online anywhere.

Maybe could you find another model on your side of the Atlantic ocean: Forces of Valor (ref 84057) Mh UH 1D Huey Vietnam 68 1/48. It seems well detailed.

Nope those are OOP and very hard to find even here. The last one I saw was from Australia and it was $169 USD.

From the pics I've looked at of the Easymodel UH-1C, it does seem there is at least some detail in the back...If it is truly diecast cutting the door off/open is going to be...well, fun doesn't really describe it. If it lacks the detail you want, you could of course add it from a plastic etc. Personally that sounds like a lot of work and expense for one chopper.

Agreed. Probably best to use it "as is" if those kinds of details don't bother you.

you could take it apart but more than likely that would damage the model ,be cheaper buying a kit..

You cant do a Vietnam game without choppers! I agree that they aren't on table long but so worth the effort/cost! And you can play some background music too!
