C119 Transport Aircraft

C119, with French Airforce markings. The French removed the clam doors at the rear of the cargo bay. When dropping supplies, the crew would simply cut the restraining straps, throw the aircraft into a vertical climb, and let gravity do its work.

Something about this plane that I have always loved. I know my dad jumped out of one (they hated them, considered them just barely airworthy and were happy to get out of them as quickly as they could) and I love tht they made some gunships out of them in Nam!
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay
