Re: Paul's Vietnam Collection.
Cheers Ash. Actually I really enjoyed painting these chaps and having researched them (well slightly scratched the surface.) I have really got into ARVN. Fascinating troops and can add so much to a game both in a good and 'bad' way.
Have a few more to release in the next few weeks. Lets see if I can keep their unit badge the same size then
I also did some specials with head swaps etc so will show them soon.

Same here, wasn't something I even thought about when the first USMC figures were released, but they are just too nice to ignore.

Look forward to any new releases for theses chaps; so far I've not chopped up many ARVN figures (that may well change) so be very interested to see some conversions.
A set of Vietnamese heads with 'bush hats' (like the M60 gunner and the bloke in the SOG pack) would be on my 'wish list' for future releases...

Re: Paul's Vietnam Collection.
I think there are a few of us that have caught the ARVN bug. I love the variety of camo and equipment these guys used Can't wait to see what you have got planned next!

Re: Paul's Vietnam Collection.
Nice conversion... he has got to be my favourite figure from the ARVN range, so much so I might have to get another pack so I can paint them in the duck hunter camo pattern!

Re: Paul's Vietnam Collection.
The first two gunboats of my Brown Water Navy are near completion. A bit more weathering and then a heavy spray varnish then the addition of the crew.
These two models have been heavily pimped and worked on and are the gun boats that support the landing craft, of which I have four to finish. They are just about to go through their main paint jobs and detailed kit additions then crew so more to follow.
The original models are from Old Glory USA and sold under the banner of Merrimac Miniatures. Not sure if they are still available. They are on the slightly small side so more 25mm than 28mm but do not notice too much when the crew are added and to be honest having them too big gets a bit silly on the table top.
The 'fleet' should look quite good when placed on the new brown river that I have ready to to use. 4' x 16' . As usual megalomania takes over common sense
Onwards & Upwards.

Re: Paul's Vietnam Collection.
I've always had a weakness for gunboats look/appearance (like during ACW, FPW, ...). Yours are great. stylish!

Yeah I am the same as you. Gunboats seem so more interesting than proper boats. They have a more utilitarian look rather than stylish.

Beautiful stuff, Paul! I can't believe how great that looks. I do not have the patience for scratch building something like that!
