Somehow I missed this....
Ken those look amazing! Is there any details as to where and when they can be had?

Todd,
Still prototyping currently, I hope to get an update tonight as it is game night at the guys place who is doing this.
He and one other guy run their table top terrain business usually part time, one is a school principle and the other an accountant but their new range is so popular, same technology they are using for these blades, the accountant resigned from his job to work full time in the terrain business so the prototyping is taking a little while in between all the sales.
I think they will be cut around the blades not a single disk, similar to the photo Darby posted up above.

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
Ken, thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing these come to fruition.
That sounds good actually. I think those might work just as well.
Keep us posted.

Todd,
TBH, with me being on holidays etc. I haven't caught up with him for a month or so.
Thomas,
He will be doing them in a number of scales.
I do have to get him some of my helicopters to take some pics, leave that to me and I will get back to you all with an update.

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
So I did get to the game night Friday night to play some Battlegroup WW2 in 20mm. I dropped off a Cobra and saw the latest samples and they look good, are very light, one he had fitted the Cobra main rotor perfectly.
I will get a Huey and Blackhawk to them this week so cross fingers we may see some pics in a week or so.

Todd,
Is this better?
1:100 UH-1H from Flashpoint Miniatures
1:100 UH-1H from Flashpoint Miniatures
1:100 AH-1G from Flashpoint Miniatures
The disk.
For 100% clarity (see the pun there ) What I did here for the photos is rest the disk on the existing blades. I think I might do that with my discs anyway, glue the disk to the blade that is.

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
The printed on sweep looks great! Will there be options for both full circular disk and cut-out sweep like first mentioned?

WOW!!
Those look AMAZING Ken. They turned out really great. I think he's going to get alot of business. I can't remember...... was there discussion about him doing these in 1/43 for the larger scales too?

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
The printed version is quite superb, but yes, it would be even better with the leading edge darker and sharper. Not difficult to achieve, but a great suggestion. Just make sure you know which way the blades go! But even then it could be put on upside down I guess

Yes Darby,
With a two rotor blade the "butterfly effect" actually uses less of the plastic so is a good option for the manufacturer.

Yes Todd,
At this stage we believe they will scale from 1:144 upwards.

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
If anyone has a Facebook account and wants input on these rotor disks you can do so on the manufacturers Facebook page in this thread: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BattlefieldAccessories/permalink/10157577031155755/

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
We'll have to give them some proper linkage in the Intel Center. I think he's going to be a busy chap.

Re: Rotor Discs - Some Questions
I can use a dozen or so for 1/100 scale, but if he finds a way to do disks for 1/300 or 1/285, I can use about 100 of those (in various sizes and configurations).

I'll re-iterate the usefulness of clear plastic sequins for this scale. They work AMAZING!
