28mm Streets of Hue
Hello All,
I have started my display diorama about battle of Hue. It will be a set of modular streets sections, scratch build with everything I can find. I plan this year to make one road section (20x60 cm) and 6 street sections (10x20 cm each). I take as model some streets of Hue or Saigon from 1968. I just made the first section (to be detailed with electric wires and billboards, then painted). The next sections will be (inspired) : the Casino cinema, the MITAC (Melia) factory with sewer tubes, bars (King bar, and others), a military compound entrance and a gas station. Of course with battle damages. It should give a representative overview of the fighting in the new city of Hue, waiting for more sections that will recall the Hue citadel, ruins and temples.
Regards, Richard

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Thank you very much. And Tomrommel1, this is a good idea! Looking forward to see your realizations.
I just discover (I am just three years late...), while searching for images of Hue MACV compound, some screenshots of the virtual map from Rising Storm 2 PC game. It seems realistic and historical. I think I will pick up some ideas in the game for that part.
For the moment I added some texturing with plaster + water + PVA Glue and telephone cable wire. Then primed in black. And the old French manufacture is under construction. Next time I will post pictures when painted.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Hello,
I made a first set of STL files for detailing my display diorama. The scale is 28mm. Here is an example of the printed result. I made a Wickham trolley (very basic - to be detailed more), a pattern of Vietnamese circular symbols (diameter 20mm each), a pattern of squares for making balcony, the Casino cinema gate, sewer pipes, a triangular pole, two gas pumps, an iron curtain, a traffic gatehouse (only the roof and the bottom) at a crossroad and a 120mm diameter round that could look like an ashtray but that is in fact the base of a bomb crater revealing VC tunnels network. It is very basic design but if you have a 3D printer and are interested by some of them, I can send it/them. Just send me a PM with an email I can send a zip attached (I don't know how to attach a file to a post on this forum).

You should call your bar The Saigon Gentleman's Club after FOF's members only forum.
