Looks brilliant! Big enough to get the idea of the building, small enough to fit on your table with other terrain and not necessarily dominate it. Very well done sir!
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay

Haven't been here in a while or I would have commented earlier.
Richard, that is some incredible work.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Thank you for your encouragement. The first side of my display diorama is quite over: I still have to find a weathering technic for asphalt/road. I found examples but I have to find a way to reproduce... My target is still to have this in a showcase, in my future war cabinet. Here are some pictures with figs and vehicles. It was a good experience to unearth historical photographs of that highway one section from different sources. Between the two houses there was a small building but I did not found details of it so I skipped it. I found also late other pictures of the Esso gas station with different point of view: I realize my interpretation of the only blur photo I had is not accurate. But I think the most important is to have integrated some historical elements, that make a decors/terrain matching reality and make it immersive.

Fabulous. I love that 55 gal drum at the Esso station. Really nice paint job on it.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
To be able to use that 28mm building both for Hue and Saigon dioramas, I changed "SAIGON" to "NAM".
I have still a red fuel drum to paint to finish that diorama piece.
I tried to be close to reality.
I understand USO was like the "Théatre aux armées" for the French. A institution for the morale I guess. To bring pieces of USA In Country.

Brilliant work! That bit of barbed wire is a very nice touch of realism.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Hello, I almost finished two street corners bases. One with an ARVN monument. I hesitated to add a teasing "search and avoid" graffiti to it... But anyway, it was the good opportunity to try the citadel Nihilakh oxide. This is inspired by historical photographs.
End of year is coming and I realize I could not finish painting all the terrain bases and vehicles to switch back to my minis. Still have so many beauties to buy and paint from Empress Miniatures and Gringo40s...

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
The buildings just get better and better. what is now the hotel, just above, is my favourite so far, but the garage is not far behind.
A thought. By this stage in Hue (and it might break your heart to do it) should not the rendering on most buildings be covered with bullet holes and missing chunks? That would give you an excuse to cover the sidewalks with debris, indeed the road surface on almost every photo shows cement fragments, leaves and larger foliage ripped off by blast and gunfire. It would "weather" the streets for you.
Next we want to se the Perfumed River, the downed bridge and the entire Citadel....all in 28mm "scale".
Seriously. I do love coming back to your postings
