Sounds like fun.

Small order from Full Metal Miniatures arrived this week. Pigs, chickens, geese and Water Buffalo; plus a civilian cart with a herder and 2 children passengers, and a load.

Re: Latest Minis Received
Arrived in todays post...was beginning to wonder if they ever arrive, must have traveled from "Down Under" to the US aboard the Kon-Tiki..
Timing couldn't have been better though, finished shooting the final clear coat on my most recent project just this afternoon. Guess I know what I'll be starting on next!
Cheers,
-BadMoon

Re: Latest Minis Received
I have been ordering from Elheim lately for my 20mm figures.
A year or two ago I sold my Britannia NVA as they were too bulky for my tastes as NVA and I thought their flat topped helmets looked more like Viet Minh than NVA. I did keep the AA 12.7 HMG sets I had as they are so cool, particularly with the nice bunker they make for it.
Also kept the VC even though they are in coolie hats, seldom worn in action. But they have some really cool weapons like a Czech LMG and some old SMGs.
So I have been replacing the NVA with Elheim. I have bought a platoon of them, plus extra RPGs. Sometimes they would have more than one per squad. Also they could be RPG-2s firing B-40 rounds, or the later, better RPG-7s firing the B-50. So I paint two of each for each squad. Elheim makes the distinctions between the two with the sights and the funnel shaped back end on the 7. However, it is pretty easy in 20mm to convert the more commonly produced RPG-7 figure to an RPG-2 by filing off the funnel shape on the end.
So they will be used with a platoon I have that is made up of Liberation and Platoon 20 NVA.
I have also bought a platoon's worth of local VC from Elheim. These have the coolie hats like the Britannia. I am going to swap heads. I will use some Elheim separate heads in bush hats, and some bare heads, also from Elheim. A few will have bare heads cut off some Liberation VC I don't need.
Getting to the U.S., I have purchased a platoon of Elheim U.S. infantry with no flak vests or rucksacks to use primarily for an aero rifle platoon. They would also work well for any other situation where you did not want those extra pieces of equipment.
Now I have two squads of the NVA painted and am starting on the third.
Photos just added.
One NVA squad being painted:
NVA gunners, mortar crew and a few machine guns:
More NVA infantry:
This is my bag of LFVC. However, these bags of figures don't show much. The most prominent figures here are some extra bareheaded Liberation figures whose heads I will remove to replace the coolie hatted heads on some of the Elheim VC. This bag also has some of the Elhiem African figures to swap head on. I like their old Russian/ChiCom SMGs:
Vietnamese civilians:
Some U.S.:
My U.S. aerorifle platoon, plus a few other figures I need for other projects:

Re: Latest Minis Received
I will snag some pics next time but I recently received an NVA platoon and US Army platoon from Elhiem. Lovely figures. I also purchased an NVA platoon and a US Army platoon from Charlie Company. The figures are showing their age, so I am going to instead use the US Army figures as Vietnamization era ARVN. I am going to be rounding up another order to Elhiem this week.

Evan, neither of us did our picture duty. 🤨
It’s nice to see another person buying 20mm.

Re: Latest Minis Received
Garry, I just got into the scale and I absolutely love it. I am normally a 15s guy (Have a nam collection in 15s multi-based) but wanted to move to Squad/Platoon level games with individually based figures. For man-to-man combat, 15s are just a tad too small in my experience and 28s just require too big of a table for me. 20mm is a perfect compromise in my opinion. Plus there are plenty of excellent manufacturers I am finding. Too bad there are none in the USA so it's a little pricey, but ultimately worth it.

Re: Latest Minis Received
The availability of aircraft and vehicles is a big bonus too.
In case you have not seen these threads, the Intel Center on the website has a “Sticky” for Vietnam Era Figure Manufacturers- 20mm. I was thinking there was a sticky for vehicles as well. I was wrong. However, if you follow the link under Britannia Miniatures, you will find their vehicles. A sticky for vehicles and aircraft would probably be a good idea.

Re: Latest Minis Received
Hello, i recieved hard plastic Rubicon USMC and two Pulp Miniatures packs. Here are two pictures beside a Gringo40s US Army. I find the minis compatible. I will confirm once painted. For Rubicon, I have calculated that I will have 20 heads left, plus arms with weapons as spares or extra bits. I wonder how not to waste that. I will try to use them with some sculpting as US troops in poncho. Plastic minis plus sculpting….I will have to stop drinking café.

Yes they are good looking figures. I agree about the compatibility. Always a concern.
