Gaming Mat for Vietnam
I have a few touchups left to do but here is a mat I did for Vietnam games. In hindsight I wish I had gotten a little darker tan/brown fur. The light fur is harder to cover and shows through if not painted well (even worse in photos). Otherwise pretty pleased. My goal was something like the below:

I actually think, based on the pictures, that the color looks pretty much spot on!

Thanks a lot guys. I appreciate that Darryl. I find an outside eye can be helpful and encouraging! Funny how many times I finish a project and am underwhelmed but looking back later am pleased.

Thanks a lot everybody!
RE not wanting to mess it up I can assure you if I could I would! The fur is relatively easy to mask your previous attempts/mistakes.
Here is where I ordered for those in the Sates:
Teddy Bear Fur
I first trimmed everything with clippers. Then I sprayed it with airbrush. My mistake in round 1 was NOT COMBING IT IN. This is imperative to get the paint spread around.
Once I ran a couple games I went back with a brush and spread paint in un-painted areas and then vigorously brushed in. That helped a lot. I should have known I couldn't get away with the lazy method!

Re: Gaming Mat for Vietnam
This mat is approximately 5'x7'. I have another piece the same size that I will make able to connect for larger battles. I plan to have a more finished highway on it running across it so the trails on this one intersect the highway.
