(ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
I came across some PDF catalogs from Qualiticast from back in the day. These were provided to me by Paul Knowles over at Saber's Edge a company in Canada I'd bought from a few times. You can see by how extensive the range was, why they're missed so badly. It's pretty damned complete if you ask me.

If I did have pics, I wouldn't post them anyway. They're so awesome your eyes couldn't handle it.

That was my reaction too...
We're going to have to do a line-up of suspects: I am currently finishing painting a company of grunts and I know a lot of them are Qualiticast, but there are other figures in there too.

Sadly, there's not many pics online of these figs. Sad, because they're an important part of the Vietnam Wargaming history.

If I remember correctly Alcal's 20mm were Qualiticast. There were lots of photos of them, but they were not id'd.

I would say that Elheim 20mm are the closest to the Qualitiast being done today. They are exquisite figures. The Vietnam range has been expanded in the last 6-12 months.

Besides the figures on the link above, there is a section on small arms which requires a lot of scrolling down to reach the Vietnam weapons:

Same for ewuipment:

And heavier weapons:

And separate heads:

Re: (ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
Hopefully someone more versed than I with QC weighs in, but at first glance those look like Platoon 20 to me.

Re: (ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
I have Platoon 20 figures too. They have a slightly chunkier casting style, are shorter, and their crouching figures have a look about them. Here are some pics of Platoon 20 stuff:
https://shop.eastridingminiatures.co.uk/us-army-172-c.asp
I did just come across these pics at the following site, including stuff described as Skytrex / Platoon 20 figures. One of the lying down figures is in there, so that eliminates them.
http://kampfgruppekarcuss.blogspot.com/2010/07/vietnam-20mm.html
My only clues are in the catalogues you supplied, and the fact that the other figures have the same sculpting and casting style.
Prime suspects:
NAM4 ARP ‘Pigs’ M60 teams
1x advancing, bandanna, M60
NAM13 Downed Helicopter Crewmen
1x running, flying helmet, M60 & Ammo box
NAM14 LRRP Team
1x kneeling, bareheaded, firing M16 with
silencer

Re: (ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
NAM17 ‘Thumpermen’
1x advancing, helmet, M79
NAM20 M60 LMG Team
1x advancing, helmet, M60 on shoulder
NAM20 M60 LMG Team
1x advancing, helmet, M16 & Ammo box
(The ammo box is not visible in this pic due to the angle it was taken from)
There are figures I left out too, including one which is a match for:
NAM2 ARP Squad Leaders
1x RTO, kneeling helmet & phones M16
Plus a wounded guy who I did not paint.

Re: (ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
Narrowing things down, in the multiple figure photos above, the following are definitely Platoon 20, judging from the following page:
http://weemenunderthebed.blogspot.com/search/label/Vietnam
Photo 1, third figure with helmet firing rifle (and I'm going to add the middle guy too, as the sculpting style is the same as the following: )
Photo 4, middle figure with cap advancing with rifle
Photo 5, 1st officer figure with pistol, 3rd figure advancing with rifle
Photo 8, 1st kneeling guy firing rifle

Re: (ARCHIVES) Qualiticast 20mm Catalogs
OTB, thanks for taking the time to do all this. Yeah, the distinctive QC figures do stand out amongst the Platoon 20 stuff for sure.
