Painting Jungle Fronds
So I've decided to make booby traps like the one below in the picture, but I've never had much luck painting jungle fronds. I guess I just can't seem to find the colors that work in a recipe I like.
Anyone care to share suggestions for colors you've had success with?

the two models are great. The color looks pine green I would say. But I cannot help further: I gave up painting leaves: impossible to find the right green. I only use wilted fern and silver birch seeds for the ground leaves.

Yeah they're actually the canopy top for a GW Catachan Sentinel. Very clever re-use of bits.

For vallejo model colors I have found that the bright US Uniform green, medium olive and Intermediate Green work really well. My batch is really old, and I have noticed that the more recent batch of US Uniform Green is a lot darker/more brown twinged.
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay

Thanks Darby. I'll have to give that a try. I have those colors in my collection. Someone at LAF suggested some craft colors from DecoArt and Folk Art, but the trouble is..... all the Michael's stores in Vancouver have their craft paint stock s**t kicked lately and apparently it's been that way for months with no re-stocks.

Looks like I spoke too soon. The GF is at the dollar store right now and sent me this....
Last time I was in a dollar store there was 2 pots of paint!

Great idea, I rather like the colours you used.
I've only tried painting leaves a couple of times and added a bit of 'Ochre brown' into the mix, gives them a sort of dying look. Somewhat reminisant of my efforts with houseplants...
