Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Hello,
Here the 40 cm long section in work currently. It is inspired by a gate in Hue where a M67 tank could be seen on some videos of the battle and also on pictures. I will complete it with a 20 cm long section with the same wall (plus trees and a gatehouse). Then the MACV compound base is next (as far as I know the Hue MACV compound was on the other side of the street.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Thank you.
When completed I will have 1m20 of streets sections, with building of both sides. Not 100% accurate of course, not the real map of Hue or Saigon but enough for a personal display diorama that targets to recall Tet offensive event. It is not as detailed as a 1/35 diorama and not 100% wargame oriented as buildings have no removal roofs. I hope to finish the Hue MACV compound entrance before Christmas...

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Thank you BravoSix.
I hope I will succeed to represent those buildings.
Trees, electric poles, barbed wires will be removable, as other scenic items (gatehouse, cars, urban rubbles)
It is difficult to choose a good extract of the Hue battlefield. But I think many actions or rescue missions started for the Marines from the MACV compound. So I finish by it but it is the starting base in fact and the citadel gate will be the objective. I have not seen any Hue wargame tables. I hope one day to see many on the web, to find more inspiration.

Come to think of it, I haven't either. Could be that it requires alot of work to do such a densely urban area. And a lot of gamers are fickle about such commitment.

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
It's from a video game, the Hue map is... interesting and compressed. Their version of the compound looks really good but is too small and maybe 60% accurate as they make a lot of allowances to the game (like extra stairs and ladders where, compressed distances so you don't have to run through the open so much, etc).
Oh give me a hoooome where the NVA roam, and the air support is stacked up all daaaaaay

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
I paused my diorama painting for minis (I have several platoons to paint). But here are some updates: from various manufacturers but I am sure you will recognize them. My target is always to mix them, as painted the same style.
I tried also to paint unit patches (in case mixing them is not satisfactory):
They are not all USMC as you can see. This is why I am very happy Gringo40s is releasing some US Army miniatures (I will paint them as 1st Cavalry division).
So in this strange and difficult times, I try to hold on and continue my collection anyway. And I am happy to see passionate people doing the same. So Regards...

Re: 28mm Streets of Hue
Progression is slow but not null! (2 figs a day...)
Always painted the same way (FoA, Gringo40s, Chiltern(SHQ), FullMetalMiniatures, Baker Company). You can have an idea of the size.
I have only the "Platoon" movie packs from Chiltern and I hesitate to buy more. The one here is certainly sergeant Barnes.
