Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
Time for some releases methinks.
USMC corpsmen and casualties. An important part of any unit and hopefully relevant in the rules you use, if not they should be
These chaps are based, as usual on pictures taken during the conflict. Most iconic of all is the famous one of the Marine being cared for on the back of an M48 Patton tank.
We also have an 81mm Marine mortar team based upon a picture of them in action in Hue 1968.
As usual brilliant work by Paul Hicks.
Now in the shop!!!

Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
The dying Marine (he did not make it whatever you read) and the Corpsman with the plasma bottle.
I have seen great work in 28mm VN from many makers.
But that is the best I have seen in any range. You even have the toy octopus in his headband.
I had been trying to work out how I could model this......but gave up
Congratulations.

Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
I came back to this again.
I said before that Paul Hicks' best ever was the prone assistant to the M60, lifting an ammo belt off his shoulder. I still look at him and try to work out how he could have been modelled and cast. But now....
The Corpsman on the tank, that is the best I have ever seen in any range, scale, period or whatever. I did research these two some time ago. Two famous photographers separately caught the event. The dying Marine's identity is uncertain and there is even a claimant to be a survivor as in "the book". The Corpsman is more convincing and very definite. He did not make it.
Here is the earlier and less known photo;

Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
Unlike most (if not all) others, your figures look like what they are supposed to be. It seems rather basic, but it is something that is so often ignored.
Too bad I do 20s.

Cheers. Yes it is basic but we actually put a lot of effort into making them look like real soldiers, especially when it comes to wearing kit and holding weapons.

Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
Your effort shows in the product, Paul. By saying "it seems rather basic," I meant something everyone should do as a matter of course. Needless to say, it takes more time and effort, and therefore money, to do that.

Re: Empress Miniatures 28mm new releases.
Yep and you have to think about it which weirdly some companies do not. No idea why but its pretty logical and in your face tbh.
What gets me is when companies then try to argue they are right in order to cover the error. You only have to look at pictures to see the size differences.
